To enable course members to:
Understand the importance of flies in livestock housing and why they need to be controlled
Identify the main fly species found in livestock housing and how their biology and behaviour may affect control strategies
Understand the term Integrated Pest Management and how using physical, biological and chemical methods can aid control programmes
Understand the importance and benefits of fly monitoring and how to set up a monitoring system and keep records
Carry out a practical assessment of a fly problem and to make recommendations to effectively manage that problem
